Vascular
Disease
Dr. Faber is trained to perform
procedures to treat problems in the arteries and veins. These
procedures include performing grafts to relieve peripheral vascular
blockages, relieving blockages in the carotid arteries in the neck,
providing access for hemodialysis in patients with kidney failure,
repairing abdominal aneurysms, varicose vein surgery, and
wound care.
Hypertension (high blood pressure) and diabetes are two common
diseases in our area. Combine that with the high number of
cigarette smokers and you have the perfect brew for a higher than
usual incidence of peripheral vascular disease. Cholesterol
plaques block the flow of blood toward the feet causing pain when
walking.
Only you and your surgeon can determine if vascular surgery or
treatment is appropriate for you. Before any surgery or
treatment, Dr. Faber will conduct a thorough examination and discuss
with you in detail your condition and appropriate treatment options.
