What is Emmi?
Emmi is an interactive patient education
series that manages the expectations of people who are scheduled for
surgery. Using easy-to-understand language, Emmi walks patients
through the entire experience from pre-op to post-op, including risks
and alternatives. Emmi improves the overall patient experience by
explaining, in an easy-to-understand manner, what a patient can expect
before, during and after an upcoming medical procedure. You'll also
see that you can send questions to your doctor's office while watching
the program. Feel free to watch Emmi as many times as you'd like
- both before and after your procedure. And please be sure to share it
with your family or a friend. They'll find it helpful, too. Best
of all, patients love Emmi because it focuses on the communication
between them and their doctor.
How do I view Emmi?
When you are scheduled for your surgery, you
will be asked if you would like to view the Emmi program for your
specific procedure. If you wish to receive the program, you will
need to provide Bedford Surgical Associates, Inc. with an email
address. Your name and date of birth will be
entered into the Emmi Manager by our staff. When you open your email from Dr. Faber, it will instruct you to click
on the link provided or you can click on the
Emmi Solutions icon above. Then enter your access code and date of
birth. You will immediately begin the program.
